Seth Goldberg, Varsity Head Coach

In his three seasons as head coach, Seth Goldberg has led St. Paul’s to the MIAA B-Conference Tournament twice.  This season, after finishing with a regular season record of 20-4 overall and 15-0 in conference,  the #1 seeded Crusaders hosted a semifinal game for the first time in almost eight years.  St. Paul’s was also ranked in the Top 10 in the Baltimore Metro area for the first time in school history. Coach Goldberg also teaches Physical Education at St. Paul’s.

Prior to coming to St. Paul’s, Seth helped revitalize a struggling program at McDaniel College (Westminster, MD) under the late Bob Flynn. With a tremendous recruting class and solid fundamental instruction, the Green Terror won 10 games for the 1st time in 10 years.

Prior to McDaniel, Coach Goldberg spent a year developing future college players at Cardinal Gibbons in Baltimore. Again working under Coach Flynn, Seth helprd develop players who went on to play at schools like Southern Mississippi State University, York College, the Merchant Marines Academy, and North Carolina Central University.

Coach Goldberg began his coaching career and started learning his craft while working under Joe Wootten at Bishop O’Connell in Virginia. Here,  he helped a once struggling program in the WCAC become a national powerhouse, finishing 3 seperate times in the USA TODAY National Top 25. In the five years coach Goldberg was at O’Connell, the team won more than 100 games, including multiple WCAC titles, Alhambra Invitational titles, and the Virginia State Independant titles.  Along with his help, O’Connell developed future stars that went on to play at the University of Maryland, North Carolina, Georgetown, Boise State, St. Joseph’s, Villanova, Louisville, Loyola, Mississippi State, Lehigh and many more.

Coach Goldberg has worked as a coach and league commissioner at Coach Wootten’s Basketball Camp for the past 9 years. Here he has taken advantage of the opportunity to learn from Hall of Fame Coach Morgan Wootten (DeMatha Catholic). This experience has helped Seth to put together a successful basketball program and an incredibly effective basketball camp.

Coach Goldberg resides in Perry Hall MD, with his wife Michelle, who teaches math at Sudbrook Magnet Middle School.
